    • High-Quality Twill: Our twill is milled and dyed in California, ensuring top-notch quality and durability. This fabric is designed to withstand the wear and tear of everyday imaginative play and the rigorous elements of the playground. Its robust nature ensures that the gear remains intact and functional through countless adventures.

    • Elastane Integration: The inclusion of elastane in our twill allows the tightly woven material to stretch in every direction. This flexibility empowers the wearer to twist, jump, kick, squat, flip, run, dance, and more with optimal play output. The stretchable nature of the fabric ensures comfort and freedom of movement, essential for active play.

These pockets are thoughtfully designed to encourage children to document their adventures and express their creativity. The ample storage space allows for carrying essential items during play.

    • Distinctive Details: Understated orange stitching frames the gear, adding a subtle yet stylish touch. Bold, colorful, custom TOMONOSHi! buttons hold the gear together, providing both functionality and aesthetic appeal. These details are designed to make the gear visually appealing and unique.

    • Tactile Experience: The charming and playful TOMONOSHi! chenille patch sewn onto the left sleeve adds a soft, fuzzy tactile experience. This patch enhances the sensory engagement of the wearer, making the gear not only functional but also enjoyable to touch and feel.

  • Our journey began with thousands of hours dedicated to imagining, investigating, and researching the essence of play. We delved into the psychology of play, understanding how it influences cognitive development, social skills, and emotional well-being. This research highlighted the importance of creating environments that foster play and creativity.

  • Through our extensive research, we discovered that to make the world more playful, we must design and create multi-layered play opportunities. These opportunities engage the imagination and encourage active participation. Our breakthroughs include:

    • Understanding Play Territories: Identifying the different types of play territories and their significance in fostering play.

    • Designing for Movement: Creating clothing that supports and enhances the physical activities involved in play.

    • Reclaiming Spaces: Developing strategies to reclaim and transform spaces into vibrant play territories.

  • We identified three types of play territories that are crucial for fostering play:

    • Temporary Play Territories: These are areas that require permission for play, such as building a fort in the living room. They offer a temporary escape into a world of imagination.

    • Permanent Play Territories: These are dedicated play areas like parks and playgrounds, accessible to anyone at any time. They provide a consistent environment for play and creativity.

    • Pay To Play Territories: These are commercial play areas like theme parks and arcades, where access requires payment. They offer specialized and immersive play experiences.

  • Despite the importance of play, many play territories are governed by those who play the least. This results in uninspired and unimaginative structures that fail to engage and inspire. Our mission is to change this by reclaiming these spaces and transforming them into vibrant areas full of shouting, laughter, and games.

  • To play at the highest level, children need clothing that allows freedom of movement and expression. Our adventure gear is designed to support various physical activities, from running and jumping to climbing and fishing. Each piece of clothing is crafted to enhance the play experience and empower children to explore their imagination.
